Shipping 211Team from Wisconsin to N. California

Has anyone shipped a boat and trailer and had a good experience? Cost? Company used? Do they cover it? Shrink wrap it? I need to look into shipping a boat and trailer. My boat has a tower as well. Thanks for the help.

Let me know what you get quoted from a shipping company. I like long drives.

I am up for making a few bucks, I also have a truck.

How well does a Camaro or Caddy pull a 211?
      I don\'t care.

we have shipped several boats using www.loadaboat.com. They are pretty competitive with their pricing and are always looking to split loads. Last year I think they were charging about $3.00 a mile, but with fuel prices, I am not sure where they are at now.

Did it last year in March. We had trouble finding a company that would do it and the 2 we found wanted $3500 - $4000 to bring our 206 from Minn to No. Nevada. No shrinkwrapping. We would have needed to take it to a dealer 1st to have it done, another $400+. We decided to do it ourselves and drove there and back in 4 days. Instead of shrink wrap we used strechwrap and wrapped ourselves. It worked fine. The drive was insane, but out cost for gas, food and lodging was right at $1000.

            Caboman,

HSmunoz had his 211 used Tracker boats to ship his boat out to California, he might be able to provide contact info.

Let me guess, your boat is white with a red stripe???

there is a site where you can enter your shipping origination and destination and date range and you will get bids from drivers. my friend shipped a boat from NC to WI for about $500 as i remember. the driver was going to be traveling that route anyway so he was willing to take less. I will try to find the site but you may find it on google search.

I was wondering when this thread would pop up!. I 'll send the info when I get home.

gotta beleive that 211 is getting closer and closer to nor cal!!

Shrink wrap is hit or miss, depends on how you do it, and if they split the load. If so they will remove the swim step and mess up the wrap. Best bet is to wrap the boat without the swim step, toss that into the boat, and then wrap the tower in that pipe insulation stuff, lower it outside of the shrink wrap, pad and secure.

                been there, done that.
