Towing - 196/Ramlin

Getting ready to take the boat on the first long-distance haul - going to Cumberland in a couple weeks. From my experience pulling the boat around locally, the boat bounces too much on the trailer to trust for the round trip. What's the chosen method of securing the boat to the trailer? I have a belly strap from my previous rig but the loops on the trailer look like they're made for tying off a cover, not holding the boat down. No hooks on back of the boat either, unless you count the lifting eye/tow hook. I'm not so sure I want to tie it down using the platform brackets.

Suggestions? Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious?

I strap my 206 from the rear lifting ring to the hooks on the back of my trailer.

We got the self adjusting straps on the trailer hooked into the platform brackets and they have worked great, they're fast, no problem!

I use the rear lifting hooks too. Platform brackets will work well too.

get a transom strap that goes from the hook on the side of the trailer, over the whole back and back to the other hook on the other side of the trailer. It will sandwich the boat to the trailer. Works really well.

I use the platform brackets. I just got back from Tahoe, a 14 hour ride with no problems. Third time I've done it with the boat strapped down with the brackets.
