    Buying my first Nautique

Hey guys I'm looking at buying a 2016 G23 with 550hp and 540 hours. Is this high for the year? Price is 145000 CAD. Does this sound reasonable? Any known reliably issues?

540 hours doesn't seem too bad for a 5 year old boat. Maybe slightly more than average, but definitely not the most I've seen. $145k canadian is roughly $115k US, which seems in the ballpark based on everything I saw while shopping, depending on condition. Can't really help you with anything to look out for specifically with that year.

So about the hours - this may not be helpful, it really does all come down to how the boat was treated and maintained. I see of the majority (not all) of owners here discussing putting 25 - 75 hours a year on their boats. I put around 175 hours on a year - and I'm at 8,000' feet in CO so we have a very short season. But we're vigilant about maintenance (maybe even a bit overboards) so we keep our boats looking and running like new. So gather as much info as you can about maintenance and you'll be in good shape.

Both my Nautique's have been 450s, so I don't have experience with that engine. A buddy has a 2019 with the 550, and he ran into some overheating issues when the dealer didn't swap his impeller. That's about the only issue I've heard of. Good luck!
