I was looking around on Ski-it-Again today, and I came across this boat.

Anyone notice anything, um, interesting about this boat?

I can't believe the owner was able to use it for any amount of time like that on a public waterway without getting a ticket.

The guy put his HULL ID (HIN) on as his registration number!

I doubt that would get you a ticket here....as long as your state revenue...er...I mean license tag is current, that's all the marine guys seem to care about.

Would have no issues on our lake. Half the boats over here aren't registered at all!

I beg to differ! I have gotten a ticket before while running the dealer registration without the year sticker on the PN G23 on Lake Norman. The registration was obviously current, and the correct numbers were displayed, but the year sticker wasn't in place. I proved that it was current by showing the registration card, and they still gave me a ticket.

I guarantee that putting your hull ID on the side of the boat as if it was the registration number would not fly on Lake Norman.

And, who does that anyway? I can't imagine thinking that the hull ID was the right number to put on the side of the boat!

I'm on the other side of 77. I've never seen anyone patrol over here. Now, that's another story on LKN!
