    Salt water??????

Have a friend interested in this boat. Do you think it has been in salt water. Look at the corrosion on the prop picture

From the pictures it doesn't look like it has been in salt. This sounds crazy but if you can get to the boat run your fingers back and forth where a person would step in the back of the boat after boarding then lick. Is it salty?

Mmm, it's got fresh water flush. And the computer and exhausts looks a little corroded.. I'm not sure, perhaps in brackish water?

looks like it has seen salt to me. whether it be brackish or straight salt, i wouldn't buy it either way. my 86 that has never been near salt looks 10 times better than that (corrosion wise)

I don't see all this corrosion, a little is normal.

My boat has the corrosion on the bracket holding the black box. It has never been in salt but was a lake boat sitting in the water for 2 years. The engine has 1300 hrs on it and has no problems.

I would venture a guess that since it is in Florida, and has the fresh water flush, it probably has seen salt water or at the least brackish water. I do believe that is has been washed very well after any such uses because the running gear under the boat does not have that green patina that brass gets if it is not cleaned after being exposed to salt water.

I would guess that any boat in florida that gets trailered to the lakes will at some point or another see salt water.

Why whould somebody get a fresh water flush and galvy trailer if they were not going to put it in salt? The corrosion around the black box and discoloration of the aluminum intake runners make me think it's been in salt.

I grew up riding behind tournament boats in salt water and can assure you of one thing; If you can't tell if it's been in salt or not, without any question, you don't want it.

The maintenance for a salt water boat is 10X what a fresh water boat requires, and the life of a salt water boat is signifigantly less.. I've seen pics of guys boats on this site that are 20-25 years old and look/run perfect, that'll never happen in a salt water boat..

i just bought a boat over the internet that looked good on photos, but was not as expected upon delivery. Notice the mold on the driver seat. NOT GOOD!! It is exciting to buy online, but can be very dissapointing. GAS costs a LOT when you go 750 miles one way to pick up a boat... be careful...

i dont think its been in salt but the galvy trailer makes me think maybe but it looks to nice to. fresh water flush is common in fla. alot of the lakes of mucky mudy bottoms and it will build up in the heads and risers i always recomend flush kits to my customers. and ive seen several cc with them from factory. so id still say not salt water. at a 190hrs if it were in salt there would be stains around those risers for sure. unless all that is new or painted over i say it looks to god to have been in salt. my 2cents
