Here's something I can't stand!!!

This guy is advertising his 226 as a 230!!

Not only that, but he plastered Super Air Nautique chromax on that boat, and the 226 is NOT a Super Air Nautique!!

Not sure if he is trying to get people to pay 230 money for his 226, but I can't stand it when people misrepresent what they are selling!!!! The 226 and the 230 are SIGNIFICANTLY different boats!

Have to wonder about the back story on this one. He changed the colors? So this means he either panted or gelled the entire boat and put in a new interior and installed a new tower. It looks nice in the pictures but all that work would have me worried something is hiding under that new paint and interior. And isn't Ledfoot Grey a Ford color?

I mean how much would a color change cost, the cost of a complete interior and a new tower be? And then sell it for $45K in covid money? I'd be worried this was somehow a Copart boat at some time that got or needed a full makeover.

If the boat was local I'd maybe go for a look-see just because it would interesting to see up close. I'm in the Seattle area and the boat is close to the WA/OR border...about 160 miles or so south from my location.

Yeah, I saw that one too. That windshield looks ridiculous, but could be fixed without toooo much trouble. The ownership question made that boat a NO for me though!

That boat clearly had a tower at one point, too. Looks like they just filled the holes with clear silicone or something. I bet this is a flood boat, where it got crushed into the roof of a boathouse (breaking the windshield and tower) and sunk.

A Nautique dealer in SE Wisconsin had a bunch of storage buildings collapse under the weight of record snow this past winter, and they had something like 75 boats that needed windshields and towers. They couldn’t get their hands on anything from Nautique so they were kludging together whatever they could just to get people on the water for the summer. Based on the location I’d wouldn’t be surprised if that was one of those boats.

I was putting my boat in the pole barn yesterday and had some of the BIL's neighbors stop by and make me an offer on my boat. Apparently they'd seen it on the lake and the BIL had let them look at it while I was running errands.

Their offer was for $68K cash and I have no idea if this is a good price for a 2016 200 Sport with 480 hours or not these days. The boat is in excellent condition with all options except Link, which honestly I would personally avoid in a smaller boat like this but that's another discussion. With people getting $40K for an 07 206 these days I'm nervous selling at $68K. 2 years ago I could've have given you market value on just about any used boat 5 years of older. These days I have no idea what my own boat is worth on today's market. Seems like there's not much out there that's nice and the nice boats are going for stupid money. I saw a 2012 200 Sport that was ~200 hours, had Link and looked near perfect listed for $70K. Anyone come up with a method for pricing boats in this market? So far to me it looks like list with stupid asking price and see if anyone bites.
