It hasn't busted in MN. I saw an '05 Supra Launch 22 listed for $59K this past week!

It's the same with the collector car market as well and still showing no sign of letting up. I was talking to a local shop that sells mid to upper end classic muscle cars and he was telling me prices are up ~10% now and spring is pretty far from being here in the great white north. He's having difficulty finding good cars and the ones he's finding typically need some work and are still more expensive. He also predicted that cars this spring when the season starts would be somewhere between 15 - 20% higher than last year.
Glad I held onto the boat (and the car) now.

What's he going to tell you,he has a vested interest. Transportation rates are going to sky rocket, fuel prices rising weekly, .25 cents was the last jump - diesel is up to 399 here in Florida and it's not even spring break yet. Fed's are going to have to raise interest rates

1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)

"What's he going to tell you, he has a vested interest."
Yeah, normally I would agree but he seemed concerned about it and he knew I wasn't there to buy a car. Crazy part is that his business is booming. Even with the higher prices he's selling stuff before it makes it to his showroom. Most of what he gets comes from somewhere south like TN, SC and NC. He then has to transport them up here to MI. Like you say diesel is going up and so are transportation costs for those cars. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say dealers are not going to eat those costs and will be passing those costs on to their customers. That means new boats/cars are going to cost more. If new boat/cars cost more it typically means that those higher prices will lift the used market. Are these asking prices nuts and pipe dreams? I thought they were nuts last fall and almost ended up selling my boat for below market value. Guess we'll see in a couple months.
Here's a link to his page if you want to take a look...... https://www.southernmotors.com/Inventory/All His inventory changes real quick so I have to believe what he's telling me is based on fact about the strength of his sales and from what I can see his prices are up from last year.

And I was about to sell my boat last fall for $65K which was $10K more than I paid for it 3 years before. I then had 2 neighbors make offers for $69K. Could it possibly be that the price of your car during this whole mess went up and you don't know it? I certainly didn't know my boat had gone up and I used to be pretty good at this stuff.
All the cars on the checkerboard flooring aren't even at his showroom yet and are selling site unseen (like the Chevelle on the first page). I'm willing to bet you he sells the mustang within 60 days at list or within $2K of asking. This is just the market we're in.
Everything is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Take a look at the asking prices on used boats these days and tell me they look right to you. I honestly couldn't tell someone how to price their used boat these days but I would suggest any price you have in mind add at least $5K to that and see if you get any hits.

I completely agree that the price of anything is dictated only by what any one person out there is willing to pay for it. That said, my car has gone way up in value, as has the one on his site. The point is that people out there think that just because it's a foxbody in decent condition it's worth top dollar when in fact that is an example of one of the lease sought after styles of the foxbody. If that were a coupe instead of a hatch the price would be right... but there's about a 30% gap from the hatch to the coupe in value (in general, market wide for foxbody cars).

Back in the day I bought a new 91 notchback because of my Correct Craft Mustang. It was a sleeper since it looked the same as the 4 cylinder cars but had the interior of the GT's and none of the boy racer plastic body stuff. It was a fun car except in the winter. Kinda sad to think that an suv like my wife's Macan S could spank it real hard now days.

I have a 70 Mach 1 now and I can tell you that everything I've owned from the 2006 Mustang GT to the 2016 Camaro SS I sold to buy this could spank it. I'm willing to bet even the V6 Camaros and the Eco Mustangs could take it. I still love driving it though. Completely different vibe and experience. I love that there's nothing about it that tracks you or logs what you're doing. I will say getting used to no power windows, locks or mirrors takes a bit of time. You also really need to pay attention when you do jump on it. No traction control or any other nanny devices there to save you if you decide to get stupid.
