Windshield Tint Feedback

Looks great on these boats. What percentage tiny looks sporty but is user friendly?

Lol I went too dark on my car so a bit of buyers remorse.

Personally, I do not like it. Yes, it looks good but the drawbacks are significant:

- Night or dusk - You have no choice but to stand up or find some way to look over the windshield.

- Driving with the windshield folded open. This is the biggest drawback for me. Now looking out to the left, I'm trying to look through TWO panes of tinted glass. It's doubly dark. I really don't like this at all. I'm constantly scanning for other boats, jetskis, floating logs, etc. and this makes it difficult to see in that direction. I end up looking below the folded part through a little slit or standing up to look over it.

Not a fan of tint on inboards either, but different strokes for different folks.

This is going to sound harsh, even though I don't mean for it to. I am just expressing my opinion. I know plenty of people who have tinted their windshields. Some of them like it, some of them know it was a mistake, and a few have actually removed it after it was installed because it was unsafe.

Honestly, I can't figure out why anyone would tint a boat windshield. I don't say that to be rude, but it serves no purpose. It doesn't block heat, since the boat is an open vessel, and all it does is make it difficult to see out of the windshield during the day, (especially if you're already wearing sunglasses, which almost everyone does) and impossible at night. I see it as a major safety issue. There's a reason laws do not allow tinting car windshields. The same theory should, in my opinion, apply to boat windshields. I would suggest leaving it as it comes from the factory, and investing in a good pair of sunglasses if the sun is too bright.

It’s really only for aesthetic purposes… other than that the pros don’t outweighs the cons… but on certain color scheme boats it makes all the difference in the way they look!

I tinted my windshield 2 weeks after delivery… 18 years later and I’d still do it! Of course I also do it to my vehicles so I might have issues!
