As a 230 owner, I was really anxious to see what the 230 replacement would be like. Seems they simplified the upholstery detail, but raised the price. They did add back the rear-facing seat though. I’m not sure what their logic was by keeping the price so close to the G. I doubt it was that last 20-30 grand that was preventing anyone from being able to afford a G. As Eli just showed us, the difference is less than that so I’d be curious to see how Nautique leadership sees this boat fitting into the market.

A 230 is 100.5" if I'm correct.
I'm a little confused about the price and the weight. Both are a bit too much for me. I would really like to step up from our 2008 230 to a newer model, but for 60 hours a year these prices don't make any sense anymore.
Also the weight is no fun, we want to take the boat with us on holiday for 800miles single trip every year, but 7500 pounds including trailer, boat and gear is the absolute maximum and I prefer to stay under 6500 pounds.
I think I like the nose of the S23. Would really wished it had 4 board racks for 8 boards and a centre cooler like the G23 and G25.

Don't people get tired of surfing and pulling tubes? I am sticking to my 09 230. I see no reason to depart with this boat and I would also consider adding an older direct drive to the fleet so I can get an occasional barefoot and slalom run in. I have always been fond of the sports car handling and multi sport function which seems to be a thing of the past.

Yep...
Running a 2008 230 since new (with a new price under current value ) and an old skool Barefoot Nautique 88 with the 454HO. Perfect combo.
Was thinking for a solid 230 upgrade, but the 2014 change wasn't great and this S23 doesn't do it either... Perhaps the S25 with a limited price increase over the S23 (like 5k max) will be a possibility. Still, the amount of money into these boats doesn't reflect the reward for me compared to other hobbies...

I bought my 230 new for $110k in Canada 5 years ago and now your telling the replacement is $250k…. I love The Nautique fit and finish and really like our local dealer but no way I can stomach or justify going from $110k to $250k. GS is not my favourite so not sure there is any boat left in the lineup for me and my budget. Luckily the 2016 is holding up well!
