I purchased a home on the lake this year. I have a 1996 NAUTIQUE super sport that I added a new dimension tower for. Boat specs out at 3,000 pounds and has 30 gallon gas tank. What is the min size lift that would work in your opinion. Current owner has a 3,600 pound lift debating if it would work.

3,600 may be pushing it a bit.
Your boat should have a 35-gallon gas tank, not a 30, according to our spec sheet.

Personally, I would not use that lift. Fuel, gear etc will put you over the limit. Lifts do have safety factors built in, but guarantee you will wear items on the lift faster being at over weight.
I would get a 6000# or 8000# lift and be done with it. Then you'll never really need to worry about upgrading or accidentally lifting it with too much weight or ballast. I like hydraulic lifts myself.
Congrats on the lake home!

I just got a used ShoreStation 4k lift for my 05 SANTE. It works great. Its a PIA to crank up, but better than pulling the boat every weekend. I do not lift it with people in it, or anything. I just use it for covered storage.

That should work fine. A lot of folks go right to limit.
No room for expansion though if you think you may get bigger boat eventually. But I’m guessing you would get it for good price. And it’s one less thing you need to do immediately. 4000 would be. Water 4500 better yet. Used 3000-4000 lb lifts are pretty cheap now with the move from ski to wake boats. With a slight tweak of Covid pricing.
You just can’t lift it with all people on boat. Which likely isn’t happening anyway. Pull back to dock, get people and stuff out, then lift boat. Reverse order to take off. I’ve never seen anyone load everything and people in before lowering, but could be situational? Sometimes you can bring the cradle up to stabilize the boat for unloading, but you are not “lifting” it, if that makes sense.
Enjoy your new house!

I love the Lifttech Motor I purchased for my lift. The remote, Bluetooth and auto stop features are well worth the extra expense. https://www.lifttechmarine.com/Ski on dude!
