Greetings... New here, first post, but I have been researching things for a few weeks now and pretty much narrowed down what boat my wife and I are interested in. Interested in getting a SAN 210 from 99-2006, but focusing I think on the 2003-2006 models. We originally were interested in an SV211, but the weight of that boat plus tandem axle trailer was pretty close to my Explorer's max trailer rating(5600lbs) so we decided to step down to a slightly smaller boat that weighs a lot less.
Going to look at a 2003 SAN 210 Team tomorrow... I dont have the hull plate number, but will get it.
Well it's supposedly an SAN Team. It has a teak swim platform and from what I gather the Team had the composite swim platform in 2003. Was teak an option in 03 on the Team edition?
Also basically all the graphics on the side have been removed. It has no "AIR" graphics and no "super air nautique 210 team edition" at the stern. Just says "210" on each side at the stern with the little wakeboard graphic. It only has the lower swoop graphic that runs from the stern to the bow.
It has the FCT1 tower from what I can gather. Has been powdercoated blue to match the hull stripe(not sure if this is a factory option or points to the tower possibly being added after the fact).
It has the analog gauges(pointing it to actually be a 2003) as well as the Excalibur 330 motor. Has some form of Perfect Pass.
I am 99% sure it has ballast as it has the ballast gauges under the throttle.
Could it actually be an optioned up Super Sport(hence the teak swim deck)? The brochure, once you get to options, doesnt differentiate between a Super Sport and a Super Air, just says "210" which I believe both boats would fall under.
Just trying to make sure its an actual Super Air and not a Super Sport, although in theory both boats are identical and can be optioned out to be identical, but I think maybe there is a price difference between the two. I dont care about the graphics really I guess.
Also what else to look for on the boat that might be "pain points" so to speak on stuff that might need to get fixed? If we decide to move forward with this boat I obviously will be having a pre-purchase inspection done at the local Nautique dealer where the boat is located. Seller says oil changed and impeller changed yearly and all other maintenance kept up to date, but no records.
The vinyl is in ok condition, but does have its issues, but its a 17 year old boat with likely original vinyl.
Overall the boat looks, in the pictures, to be in pretty decent shape.
Thanks for any insight you all might be able to provide.
