Because I'm a 6 event skier, there isn't a choice for me (Slalom, trick, barefoot, wakeboard, surf, tube, aquaplane Used to jump :O .
The 200 is a pretty good ride for a lake boat. Smoother than the TSC1 in a chop or over wakes.

Tubing is great - need the acceleration for tube slalom (sometimes triple HO Mavericks with a couple of dude mavericks on board)

I like to swim off the boat and it's great for that too.

For beaching I usually back in, paddling and would anchor out.

Thanks for the advice, I do need a new tube and checked the HO Mavricks double and triple tubes. How do you haul them around when not tubing?

I want to have a Bimini top and wondered is it better to have the tower with the top mounted up high or the standard top mounted to the boat no tower.
For anyone with out the tower do you find the top frame is to restrictive when going in and out of the bow area?
Do the towers improve the tow ability for tubing and skiing?

If you're just cruising 75% of the time I'd think you'd want something where all your passengers can face forward. LOVE my 200, but it isn't built to be a cruiser.

Towers give you a few things in a ski boat. A location for racks to hang boards - particularly wakeboards, exrtra skis etc. You can top mount a bimini off them; typically much higher than a non-tower bimini. This gives you more headroom. And for those non-ski times...when you're towing the kids on the tube, wakeboarding or whatever, you can high mount the rope freeing up the back back seat for passengers. All this means more room in the boat. I have a tower our on 206 while we rarely tow off the tower it gives us all of the above.

Downside is that the boat covers are more complicated and you have deal with overhead issues when on a covered lift or a garage when storing.

For us, a tower has been a good addition for a family use boat.

Thanks for the pros and cons of the tower. being able to tow tubes and still use the rear seat is a plus!
I will go with the tower.
