2021 vs. 2022 G23

I’m trying to decide on a 2021 or a 2022. Are there any differences in the 2022 G23 other than tower, supplemental ballast, and updated linc?

I don’t mind the ballast issue, I’m more than capable of plumbing in my own on separate switches. And I actually much prefer the 2021 tower to either of the 2022 options. But how different is the Linc system?

I also have concerns about the ZZ6. All of my past boats have had the XR7 in it and they perform great. Any power issues with the ZZ6? I mostly wakeboard so getting on plane in a timely manner is my biggest concern.

Equally optioned I’ll save about $40k going with the 2021. The 2021 my dealer has is almost exactly how I’d build a boat if I was ordering it, and it’s in stock, if I order a 2022 I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t get it until next July.

Sounds like you'll be just fine with the 2021. The ZZ6 is a great engine for all but the most loaded-down boats.

The XR7/XS7 is no longer available, so if you ordered a bigger engine in your 2022, it'd have to be a ZZ8, which is a very expensive upgrade.

In stock, cheaper and your preferred build. Sounds like an easy decision to me!

If the ZZ6 is similar to the H6 I have in my 2016 (both 450 HP). We have no problem getting on plane unless we have a massively loaded boat (10+ adults and full ballast). Even then with the NCRS in high and 2 adults in the bow we get on place and the wake is insane.

What is your elevation? And will your dealer let you demo the boat before the season is over? If it gets up on plane then I'd say go for it as is.

We’re at about 2500ft, so not bad. I can demo it and the dealer will bring plenty of lead to test with. Just wanted to get some impartial input before I spent the day out demoing.

Test drove and made a deal on this beautiful vessel today. I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. I’ll pick it up just in time for winter but that gives me time to plumb supplemental ballast for next season. If anyone is on the fence about buying a 2021+ just do it, the new boat is unreal.
