I like the interior colors, clashes with the very white gel coat, similiar color gel coat would look real nice, dash isn't bad, a lot of nice new features.......But, is it just me, or do the cushions, the interior, and lay out of it all seem so blocky, squarish!

I like the location of the waste can better than the 220 and haven't seen an airdam like that before.

        engine for 236

I think they hit triple on this one. The boat itself is GREAT but what's the deal with not offering something more than the 375 hp engine. CC and PCM really need to figure something out on this. I'm not talking about bringing back the python or anything, but this boat is a beast and the PCM is going to be working overtime, IMO.

        Any thoughts.

I can't wait till 5 years from now when I can afford one. My new boat is always 5 years old.

            RE: engine for 236

Uhh....I don't know about this one guys, I hate to be a buzz kill, but…

The hatches, doors, and compartments all over the place are a bit much.

The square looking wrap-around seating is very cheap looking (like some other inferior manufacturers’ boats).

That table is ridiculous. I bet there will be some crazy gelcoat cracking if you actually use that thing while underway.

The removable seats-backs are really cheezy, not very clean looking at all.

And the towline attach point…lower so you can reach it? Isn’t the point of the tower to increase the angle of the line in relation to the rider, why would you lower it? Is this putting convenience before function? And what about when you turn around and pick-up a rider, won’t the line get snagged on the speakers?

This boat would probably be a complete nightmare if used in saltwater (lots of hinges, crevices, moving parts, metal, etc.)

It seems like the boat is a really good family boat, but I’m not sure it is worth all the $$$. This boat reminds me of a really nice Sea Ray, but not a world record tournament tow boat. I’m not sure that this is the right direction for me, but hey, I am a hardcore wakeboarder and I am probably the vast minority of their customer demographics.

It is one of the more positve reactions I've had to anything I've seen or heard about from them in about a year. There are a lot of things I like. The interior looks durable. I like this boat enough. The 236 is decent. I *think* I like the 220 enough. I have never been behind one but I am cautiously optimistic about the 220. I could not be more neutral about the 236. It is like the light silver Dodge Stratus's of wake boats. I mean, how can you really hate it? But how can you really like it either? Pure vanilla.

But I just got what I consider to be reasonably reliable confirmation that 210 we all know and love has almost certianly being removed from the lineup. I dont even know what to say. I mean. Yay 236. Whoopie 220. This is all indicative of what they are up to as a company. The 236 is a good example of the 'next generation' Correct Craft. It is not necessarily indicitive of what I am personally interested in seeing them produce. I think they are in the process of diluting their brand and place in wakeboarding. The 210 removal is a tipping point, that for me, removes a certian aspect of the "cutting edge" vibe that makes them special in my sport. While KEEPING IT let them dabble in the crossover market and allowed them to retain the hardcore vibe. We'll still have our memories, and the many many 210's that have been produced.

I also think they'll bring it back.

                      Erik,

Do you get paid for the "Wakeboarding Report" stuff that you do, or do you do it as a hobby?

skinautique, I do it as a hobby, although recently there have been a few "inquiries". I hold a Journalism degree from a good school and I have been trying to approach that site as a form of practice for bigger things. It is getting a small spot in the December issue of Wakeboarding Magazine as well (not an ad).

                        Why do you ask?

I dont think it looks cheap. Cheap compared to what? I actually think it is a nice interior. My skirt remains not blown up by the boat... but I see where they were going with the interior. It is as retro as anyone is doing right now (which I personally appreciate). Retro = wont looks idiotic in 2 years like certian other products.

Maybe cheap isn't the right word but the beige coloring looks like 4Winns more than it does Nautique. It looks like Nautique has decided to go more for the people upgrading from 4winns, Seaswirls, Bayliners, etc. That's the only way I can figure why they'd allow that dash on there.

Because I am almost always driving my boat (88SN2001) the dash is a very important to me. That dash kills the boat for me and no matter how good in any other respect the 236 is, the only way I would ever buy this boat is if I had the cash to rip out the dash and install a totally different, good looking one.

A couple of years back I heard a respected CC person call the 226 the Cobalt killer. I think if you think that the family market isn't driving the industry right now, you are kidding yourself. I personally know someone moving from the Sunscape into a 247 for the kids and a little bigger boat!
