    2021 G's for sale

Kinda slow on here going into the winter months...so I thought I post. Just an observation/question to the group. On Buxton Marine's site in Texas, there are 7 2021 G23s for sale in the used boat section. All between 204K to 210K roughly.....with anywhere from 20 to 60 hours. My question is, are these folks dumping these boats now because they ordered a 2022 with the supplemental ballast? Not looking for an exact answer for every sellers situation, but just something I noticed. Just curious if there is any buzz about switching up and how widespread it might be for members on here. Awesome boats available on there if someone is looking to save a little over new. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I just bought my 2021 G23, I like to let other people take that 1 year depreciation hit. For the people that did trade in, I’m guessing some felt the new tower and supplemental ballast were worth the upgrade and some people just get new boats every year.

Wow can't believe even at Buxton Marine they would have 7 used G23s available in the same model year on top of being the previous year model boat

Hear ya Cpan. I love my 21 and don't need the extra ballast. Like my tower as is compared to the new ones. I looked further down the page on the used boats and there are quite a few 2020s on there also. Lots of volume moving at the end of the season it seems.

I sold my 2021 G25 to buy a 22 strictly for the supplemental ballast. While I did like the 2021 power tower quite a bit, the new actuated tower has really grown on me, mainly for the structure and storing my foil up top. The extra ballast makes an incredible difference on the surf wave and length. However if you add 900 lbs (what I had) of lead to a 2021 you’ll get a great wave also.

This is something I've definitely noticed locally since this summer. Generally, the 2021s are sitting for sale for longer and there are more available than any other model year. Currently my dealer has 13 2021s available and some of them have been available since the summer.

The price point of the 2021's is too high in my opinion (relative to other model year increases). I get it's a new hull but given the new features of the 2022 I think they are just priced too close to the 2022's. Everyone will have their own opinion on this of course. Perhaps with covid and no build slots available they may be able to off load the 2021 surplus in the spring. Maybe another spring price increase or people starting to order 2023 build slots will make the 2021's more appealing.

In contrast, any G's in the $180-$200k (Canadian) have been flying off the shelves (2017-2019 model years) with no where near the available pre-owned stock of the 2021's.

Buxton always has a lot of last years boats up for sale about now. Most of them are consignments. (Look at the stock number and see the ones that end in C.) This time of year a lot of people put their boat up for consignment and if it sells they order a new one. If it doesn’t they keep the boat. I know this forum is ****-bent on making a big deal out of the supplemental ballast situation but most people really don’t care. They’ll just add the lead. The only person I know trying to upgrade from 21 to 22 wants the new tower.

Sure but you know at this time of year on here, it is just a big bore. Yawning at all the same old, same old winterization posts. No excitement till 1st quarter of next year when folks start preparing and gearing up for the season.

Yea I’m not sure why the big uproar about the ballast. I saved about $40k on my boat vs what a 2022 would have cost me, and I wouldn’t have got tungsten. I then ordered supplemental ballast for $1500 from wakemakers and it will take me an afternoon to install. I can live with switches for that kind of savings.

I was just looking at nationwide classified for the G23 and I noticed many 2021 for sale. I wondered the same thing.
