Kenboat We are still waiting for someone to produce a video of one of these boats underway with the trolling motor attached to the swim platform but the video has yet to be posted . Maybe one could be photoshopped to create some excitement during these slow times?Last edited by GMLIII; 01-19-2022, 10:38 PM.

It really only matters for 2013 to 2018 g21 and g23. My g21 came with the trolling motor as pictured as the previously owner liked it as backup. He got stranded when the shaft broke.
I tried it and it worked great. You weren't going to go fast, and you weren't going against a big wind. It is not storm protection. I kept it simply because I was on a small lake and we went out early and late in the season when there wasn't a single other boat out or a service that could bring us home. So it gave me peace of mind for a shaft break, or any of the other mechanical issue that could come up (i.e. broken belt tensioner, blown off of exhaust baffle).
And if I was really honest, I would say I never posted the video because some of the guys on here were a-holes about it so I figured f-them.

I love the trolling motor idea…..it’s both practical and hysterical!
if it were me, I’d also keep a couple of fishing rods on the boat. Periodically I’d hook up the trolling motor and throw a few lines in the water just to confuse the fishermen.Previously: 2015 SAN 210

Nautique does make a kit for dealers to be added after I believe afterwards. I’ve heard it’s about 10k + 4-6k for install.

Nice. I called my dealer two weeks ago to see if I could add the thruster. Boat was supposed to be an April delivery. Dealer said they would check with Nautique. They called me back 2 days later and said I could not add the thruster because the boat just showed up at the dealer. Picking her up tomorrow. Here is a pic they sent me:

We installed the EZ Glide after market thruster on our 2019 G23 - has about 50% more power i believe than the Nautique version and lower cost. Does not tie in with steering assist but we put the switch on the right armrest in front of the control area and its easy to use when needed.

Welcome to PN SanBernard River G!
Correct me if I am wrong here, did you mean to say EZ Drive Thruster?
Did you do the install, or have it done?

yes, you are correct. Was EZ Drive. Ordered direct and had our dealer install. Cost $4700 when we ordered in Dec 20. Dealer did a great job - we installed the rocker switch to control the thruster. We are on a river with a high current at times, so the thruster really was a game changer for docking. This model was stronger than the Nautique version at the time - believe they have increased the size on theirs, but I still think this one has more power. I like not having it tied into the steering assist, but then again, i have never driven one set up direct from the factory. Cost was about 1/2 in total of what it costs from Nautique. For anyone who did not get one initially and is considering putting a thruster in, I would recommend you consider the EZ Drive. Dealer charged about 10 hours labor to install.
