    2021 G23 Ballast Upgrade Package

    PN, Adam with SWELL Wakesurf,

We purchased a 2021 G23 and received delivery in March '21. Awesome boat and super happy with it, we usually ran 800 lbs of lead last summer to get the wave dialed in and perfect. Once Nautique launched the 2022 G23 and its supplemental ballast option, we were bummed.

We spent July and August taking our G23 apart and trying to find a way to add a additional ballast to it.

    Our Criteria Was:
    1. Has to be subfloor, we don't want anyone to lose storage
    2. Fills and drains easily and completely
    3. Easy to install, for us that meant no additional pumps
We went through a few versions and plumbing solutions, trying to add an additional bag in an overflow solution, unfortunately we couldn't get that one to work properly, and fill and drain easily due to a divider bump under the floor in the center of the cavity and some additional filling/drain issues.

Our 4th version was a winner, we pulled out the stock bags, designed a bag with Fatsac's help to fully fill the entire subfloor cavity, and utilized the existing plumbing. This system will fill up to stock levels and the pumps turn off, this is the stock level and works great. If you have a smaller crew and want to use the additional ballast, just go into your ballast settings and hit fill on both rear pumps until it overflows and you have a total of 3,900 lbs of rear ballast, for a total ballast capacity of 5,250! Draining will work the same, if using the supplemental ballast you will need to hit drain in the linc to completely drain the bags.

We had a few more challenges to overcome as Nautique wasn't interested in selling us their OEM ballast fittings that are glued into the OEM bags, we also needed to design a new fitting for the vents. We went ahead and designed the fittings we needed and were fortunate to find a supplier to manufacture them!

We've wrapped up the package and are happy to offer it to you guys to get your 2021 G23's upgraded like ours is!

This is a plug and play system, you will remove your stock rear subfloor Fatsac bags, and replace them with the upgraded Fatsac bags. All fittings are glued in just like the factory and includes everything you need to get it installed.

We expect this project to take 1-2 hours per side of the boat and requires just a few simple hand tools. If you live near us in MN and aren't interested in tackling it, we'd be happy to do it for you.

Hit me up with any questions, also wanted to offer the first 5 people a $150 discount with code: SWELLG23

We had a lot of questions so wanted to do a bit of a FAQ here for anyone interested.

Where does it add weight: The stock rear bag is under the floor all the way in the back of the boat, but there is a cavity that is open that continues up to the battery compartment under spotter seat on the port side as well as to the drivers seat on the starboard side, so we are completely filling these cavities balancing the weight nicely under the passenger seats below the floor.

How much weight does it add: Each of our bags is 1,950 lbs as designed, the factory bags are 725 lbs each and 2022 supplemental is an additional 725 each for a total per side of 1,450 lbs, our bags are 1,950 lbs each side.

How difficult is it to install: It will require basic knowledge of hand tools and about 2 hours per side max. You will be removing factory access panels and engine dividers to get access to areas, as well as pulling some hoses and replacing them once new bag Is installed.

How does it completely drain: we are creating suction with check valves and the pump to suck the bags completely flat, there will be a few gallons of water max in each bag when fully drained. If you removed access panel after draining stock setup you will find the same result.

Do I need to upgrade my prop: We did not find any issues at wakeboard or wakesurf speeds getting to or keeping speeds, if you are at significant elevation or frequently ride with a full crew and want this full, it may be necessary

What engine was it tested with: Standard ZZ6 450hp motor

How do you completely fill and drain with Linc System: when you go to your profile and select fill, it will fill the rear bags to stock levels. To continue to fill the entire bag, you will hit fill again on the rear pumps and it will continue to fill, once you hear the water coming out of the overflow, you can hit stop fill. This will be the same process to drain.

Who makes the bags: For this kit we have partnered with the Nautique OEM Supplier, Fatsac, to ensure these bags meet OEM Specifications.

Will it fit other years: Currently this is only designed for the 2021 G23.

I actually was curious about the extra ballast option now being offered on the '22 boats. Do you guys have a solution for a '19 G25?

We don't currently, but the setup would be the same, we would just need you to confirm a few things and get us some measurements. Give me a call at 651-400-2387 if you are interested.

Hi macpres - I Have a 22' G with supplemental but have plumbing in thru the overflows additional bags in the midship seating - when the stock fills and I hit the manual fill it only runs for a very short time then it auto cuts off so you have to keep hitting this many times ...... it doesnt cut out when you do manual empty once the stock volume has been pumped out however- Is there another setting In the LINC that you have activated so get this system to run continuously when manual fill is hit after stock cuts off?
