    Garmin Watch and Go Pro

I am curious how many of you out there are using these two features? If so, I would like to hear how you use them? I also have a couple questions:

    1. Can you use the Garmin watch if you are not surfing, but hanging out back in the water to advance song and adjust volume? not really for surf, but if chilling in water, would make it nice.
    2. How well does GoPro work? Is there a Hero Model that seems to work the best with Nautique system? I have researched the forums and read the GoPro is somewhat of a problem, but looks like maybe Hero 7 is the one?

Feel that every-time I watch the walk throughs, both of these features still get pretty good press. Maybe I am missing out on something that I need to look into? I typically just go out and surf and enjoy the day.

I know this topic may have been beat to death, but it is 2022 and didn't know if there are any new updates in software or watches.

You can advance the song when riding or not. When the watch is connected to the boat or phone, hold the bottom left button down and it will bring up what track is playing and you can advance and pause. You can adjust the volume of the boat when surf select is open but you don’t have to have the surf system/wakeboard engaged. I’m not sure about the GoPro yet. I just got the GoPro max and hope to play with it in the next couple of weeks on the boat. For snowboarding it is great though for what it’s worth.

      I’ve used both on my 2021 G23.

Garmin & Surf Select: I have a Garmin Felix 6x Pro and it works great with the boat. I use it mostly for surfing, but wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t work while chilling at the sandbar. This is an awesome feature and wouldn’t want another boat without it.

GoPro: I’ve been able to connect my Hero 4 black and when it connects it work really well. The auto start/stop on the recording is a really nice feature. However, getting it connected to the boat is sketchy. Some days it connects, and others not. I’ve gotten to the point where I try to connect it while the ballast are filling, and once those pumps stop, I’m done trying. I really wish it connected more reliably, because when it works its very nice. I will try my Hero 10 when summer hits, but have low expectations for it working.

Yes, most definitely. Note that this is a Bluetooth connection so range is somewhat limited. The antenna is in the Starboard compartment in the back up high on the bulkhead panel. A black box about the size of a deck of cards with a short antenna sticking up.

This has been problematic from the beginning. Only certain models of the GoPro work and it's not the newest ones. You'll have to do forum searches to find out which ones do work.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad the watch can be used to advance the song. I was going to add the transom remote, but really don't need to if you can advance with the watch. I have had the transom remote on my two previous G's and it seem that it gets bumped into Aux Source more than it is actually used. Going to go without it this time. From what I have read, it seems the Hero 7 is the best GoPro to get, so I will try that one out.

Is there a certain Fenix 6 that is preferred works better in a boating atmosphere? Pro, Solar, Standard, Sapphire?

They all work just fine with the NSS. You'll need to compare prices and features to see which one you want.

The Fenix 7 was launched a couple of weeks ago and it has a touch screen. Unfortunately the Nautique App isn’t currently compatible, not sure when or if it will get updated.

Does anyone know how long it typically take Nautique to update their software for the new models? I am also curious if the Touchscreen of the Fenix 7 will be functional in water.
