So, if you were in my position and had a house on my lake that is predominately 8 to 10 feet would you be shopping for a G21? Or walk away from the idea like some of the above seem to suggest? How does the 21 compare to the 23? I sat in both yesterday and wasn't disappointed.
Quite honestly that’s not a decision I can make for you. If it were me I’d rather enjoy the water and lake out my back door as much as possible. I’d probably lean more towards more of a jack of all trades boat that wakeboards , skis and surfs like a 210 , BU 22lsv Axis T22 to give me variety of Watersports options.I can’t speak with regards to MC XT 21/22 directly because I’ve never tried to dial one in in shallow water. If surfing is your true and only priority and skiing is not then the g21 would be the best option in my opinion.

860 acres is a pretty generous size. My lake is 230 acres but is 20 ft deep.

Maybe look at the S21. It's a quality boat. I surfed and wakeboarded and surfed an S23 and really liked it.

Any chance the dealer could bring the boat to your lake for a demo? That would be the easiest way to find out if a boat you are looking at would work. I guess I would run this idea by any of the brands you are interested in and you might find the right boat that way. Or at least rule out some of them that don't perform well in that depth. Good luck

We have a 210 and before that a Super Sport and have always experienced a very marginal wake when depths get around 10' and a completely unrideable wake at anything 6' or under. Good luck with your decisions!

Based on some of the comments, I'm thinking a G21 or GS22 might be better suited to my shallow 8-12 foot deep lake.

I believe you’d be happy with either. There was a hull change on the GS22 that significantly improved the wave. And I believe that happened on The 2019 and newer model.

You scooped up a GS Scooter? Love to hear your thoughts on the comparison if you want to PM me.
