2014 G21 - considering purchase

I owned a 2014 G21, and I’m also from Alberta! Mine had the 550, I absolutely loved that boat, the only reason I don’t own it anymore is I’ve done pretty well trading up on boats with this weird pandemic pricing.

The G21 is a great wakeboard boat and a good surf boat. The surf wave is a bit steep and that year you won’t have surf select. If you have any specific questions please ask, I’ve put on a lot of hours riding and driving that boat.

Can you mellow out the wave with less ballast? How's the electronic reliability?I'll probably have more questions if I get it for sure but was looking for a quick run down pre-purchase inspection kind of thing.

One of the best thing you can do on a used boat purchase is to bring a certified marine mechanic with you to the lake test to do an inspection on the boat. Very well worth it in my opinion.
Great boats though for sure.

Yes you can mellow it out. If I remember correctly we often ran 50% rears and 100% belly ballast. 11.5mph and adjust NSS and NCRS as you see fit.

For electrical we did have a LINC screen go bad on us. Ours was under warranty so I didn’t care. If you’re buying from Wizard or Robertson ask them
about extended warranty, they can get you it through a 3rd party. It’s not cheap but a LINC screen is $4500 so it’s worth it.

I wont lie, I love this boat but keep going back and forth on if it's better to buy a 7-8 year old Nautique or a 2-3 year old Moomba/Supreme for the same price. This one does come with all the kit to get started incl. extra repaired prop. has really low hours *sub 200* new speakers, new bimini, and I do think even if its older it will be easier to sell a Nautique than a Moomba despite the age difference. I recognize that this is the choir but all input is encouraged.

I’d definitely be leaning towards the G21, but would encourage you to demo both boats If possible. You will know after that I’m sure of it.
yes resale will be way better on the Nautique

I owned a 2020 Supra SL450 for a few months last year. I was very disappointed in that boat’s fit and finish, so I would imagine moomba would be even worse. It was the last non nautique I’ll ever own.

I had a 2015 G21. Great boat. No electrical issues...except for the occasional reboot of the linc...but nothing to send to the shop for. Like Cpan said...this boat does surf "short" and close to the boat....but you can lengthen the wave with the NSS and less ballast. If you aren't a pro....this wave and wake will be ALL you ever need. Plus the boat looks super cool and handles the waves great. I would have gotten another, but I wanted the new hull and the G21 in the new hull came out right after I ordered my 2021 G23. G21 is truly a do it all boat in my opinion.
