I searched, but could not find anything that specifically answers the question. I have a 2021 G23 and recently came off the waiting lift for a slip. I need to get a lift and looking at constrained options. There is one available with a 7,500 lbs capacity. Knowing the boat is ~6,000 lbs dry, is this enough lift?

Possibly. I have an 8800 and it did fine with my G23, and does fine with my heavier P23 as well.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

my buddy has been putting his 2019 G23 on a 6000lb rated lift for almost a year. Of course he empties the boat completely of cargo and people before he lifts it, but the lift seems to be holding up ok. I would say you should be fine with a 7500lb lift

We went from a 6500# Hydrohoist to an 8800# hydrohoist after upgrading from the Supra 24 SSV to the P23... 7500 likely will be ok but bigger is better IMO.

Thank you everyone for the input. Hopefully I get the slip and lift reserved/ordered in the next day or so.

I would not short change on a lift. 7500 you will be right at the limit by the time you add fuel, stuff, etc. And you better be sure your ballast are empty, every time.. I have seen a couple broken lifts, one wear the jagged aluminum dug into the fiberglass. IMO, the small cost difference on a lift to go from a 7500# to a 10k is negligible and gives you a lot of peace of mind. The gentleman using a 6k lift is pushing it... It may work but I guarantee it is stressing the welds, pins, etc. I know everything cost money, but with a 150k - 200k or more boat, I don't understand not spending a couple grand extra for an appropriate lift. I don't have a lot of experience with the air lifts, but I do remember a post a few years ago somewhere that someone put too heavy a boat on one, and it flipped over with a little wind and waves...
Just my .02
