GS20 VS GS22 Help

Hey All, New here but hoping to join the family shortly!

My wife and I are looking for more focused surf boat to replace our Yamaha 212X, and though there are a few non-nautique options (wife really wants a centurion), I want to go with something that will fit in our garage, which means either:
2022 GS20
2022 GS22

Now, the GS22 will fit, but it will be a squeeze including removing the platform, which I know isnt hard, however I would like to bring my baby in side every day, not just for the winter. The GS20 will fit with room to spare. As for boat size out of the garage, we actually prefer a smaller boat when possible, our first boat was 19ft and we loved the size, we usually have no more than 4 onboard so space is no issue.

But, we get a half decent surf wave from our Yamaha as it is, if we upgrade we really want something that will rock our world (specifically pushy and clean). I know there is lots of discussion, and many opinions, but in the opinion of the hive mind, which is the right path forward?

Have you considered a G21? If you really want a good surf wave, you can't beat a G, and it should fit in your garage easier than a GS22.

Thanks for the tip @NautiqueJeff! honestly, it never came up while talking to the local dealer (looks now like they dont have any in stock which may be why) so I genuinely thought the G23 was the smallest of the G series. That may be a very good option. Tower folded can I squeeze her through an 8 foot door?

Possibly. Depends on the trailer. I think you'd like a G21 better than a GS20, especially if surfing is your main goal.

You can’t go wrong with the G21!! (Only slightly biased…)

But seriously - amazing surf wave, incredible wakeboard wake, tons of storage. As Jeff notes, you should definitely check it out.

Removing the platform is a pain. My wife and I went that route a few times to avoid blocking our sidewalk with the boat attached to truck in the driveway and gave up on it eventually. It's heavy and awkward to remove and reattach.

2020 or later GS22 has a great surf wave. I suspect you will be impressed. Will fit in an 8ft door.

I agree with jhoffy22 that you're not going to routinely want to pull off your platform to store. It seems easy enough, but it's a hassle that I would not want to do every time I put the boat away.
