Wanted to get some opinions on the telescopic tower option ans the actuated FCT.

Overall queation is, what are people ordering/why?

More specifically, its my understaning that when you go with the telescopic tower there are items like the board racks, stereo and binini inclided in that price. Where if you go with the actuated FCT you havt to add thise options on. End result being the telescopic tower is aprox 5K-6k more?

Also love to hear thoughts on steering assit on G23

And yes, the thruster is expensive, but I think it is worth the price. I have had it on three boats now, and it sure is nice to have.

I got the telescopic tower on my '22. I think it's worth it. I really like how well built the Bimini frame is. Very nice for storing heavy boards on top especially since we got into foiling this year. I hated the previous generation Bimini.

I agree with both, telescoping tower is super nice if a rain storm pops up and the more secured Bimini with the pockets are great for foils or just larger surf boards. I never thought the steering assist would be worth it until you have it. Once you have it you’ll never want to be without it. It saves a ton of time when picking up riders or just getting novice riders in better position for them having more success.

I’ll likely order the actuated tower vs the telescoping tower on my next boat for 2 reasons, 1. I don’t want to always have my bimini top out. 2. I think the telescoping tower is ugly.

Thrusters are an absolute game changer. Will never get another boat without them.

does the telescopic tower bimini stay deployed/out when driving? i drive 30 min to and from lake each weekend, amd wondered of it woukd be a problem?

I just wish I could order the telescoping tower WITHOUT the vertical board racks. I simply do not like those racks. They're no easier than than the standard racks and only obstruct the driver's vision.

I love the telescoping tower and bimini, you can tow with it, I've towed up to 80mph with no problem... Also I highly recommend the thruster, it's amazing!

Can't speak for the tower, although I do know our next one will be push a button down either way. The thruster however, man I wish we had one. These are big heavy boats and we are all great Pilot Captains in our own minds. Throw some wind in the mix with docking, trailering, and lining up a surfer, a thruster would of really come in handy many times over. Still thinking of a winter add on project here... Next boat, for sure.

I went with the actuated normal tower over the telescoping tower simply because I tow lots, up where I am the bugs are nasty and pepper the tower and speakers anytime I tow. With the actuated tower it is tucked behind the windshield so it's protected from the bugs. If not for that I probably would of went telescoping.

I really wish PTM racks were an option. I know the Tritons are technically safer but those PTM racks are so much nicer.

My apologies Jeff, that's actually what I meant. He was referring to his tower and windshield so when I brought up the tower down cover I simply meant it covered all of that and honestly most of the boat that would be hit by bugs. I have one on my S23 and nearly all of our customers in the marina have them as well. They work great.

I towed one time with the current tower down cover on the actuated tower and had rub marks on the gel coat... I just tow with the cover off always so wouldn't solve my problem unfortunately
