2023 G23 Motor Suggestions - PCM ZR7?

Hello Everyone,

Long story short I'm selling my 2021 G23 with the Swell Wakesurf Ballast upgrade. I love the boat and there's a part of me that hates to sell. However, we recently purchased a boat house and need a power tower to account for our second story. My current boat has the ZZ6 with the Acme 18.125 x 13.50 prop (#3917). The prop was the best money I ever spent and to be honest it was like I put a whole new motor into the boat. However, I am considering going to the PCM ZR7 for the new boat (will probably put the same prop on). What's everyone's experience with it? I wakeboard 90% of the time, though I have lots of surfers on the boat as well.

I have had that engine on several of my boats. It is a great engine -- plenty of power. You will notice a substantial increase in fuel usage over a ZZ6 though. The ZR7 uses MPEFI instead of Direct Injection, and the displacement is bigger, so fuel usage will be higher.

Why not save thousands and just get the ZZ6 again with the prop, ****, keep yours and put the stock prop back on before you sell it?

Gotcha, I don't have experience with the ZR7 but did test out a G23 with the ZZ6 and it was fine... the ZZ8 in my boat is outstanding but that is a huge price increase IMO.
