    Interior Refresh

    Hey All,

I am getting the interior of my SV211 fully retrimmed in the new year and I'm looking some potential inspiration. I am based in Ireland and have looked into getting replacement skins rom C&S but when factoring in shipping and import charges, plus the time/cost of fitting it just works out too expensive. As such I have stripped the interior and will be taking it to the UK main Nautique dealer for England who have a local guy who they use for all such upholstery work.

I am fairly sure I am going to stick to my original colours just update the logos and maybe change some sections to textured (crocodile effect) vinyl rather than smooth. But in the back of my mind I am wondering if I am missing an opportunity to change the design completely...

I have had a look through many of the restoration and show us your Nautiques threads but have only found a few that have offered any real ideas. As such I would appreciate if people could share photos of any similar projects they have undertaken themselves of similar aged Nautiques.

Below are a few pics of my current interior. The major limiting factor I can see is that this era of boat the sponge profile on the seat bases was not raised for the whole seat edge, but rather a bit of a wavy profile, so I won't be able to play around with extending different profiles the length of the whole seat base etc if you get me.

The picture of the lake in the background is a money shot (all the way from Ireland), worthy of a frame and a wall Nigel06.
If that is sitting in your driveway, looks like you have it rough, lol.
Sorry not much help with your upholstery dilemma, lot's of potential there...

Thanks for the kind comments Scooter G, we live on the coast and that is the sea in the background, looking at the view every day you sometimes forget how nice it is. The boat is kept on a freshwater lough away from the coast to save having to deal with salt water though.

Take a look at this posting from a member here, I really like where this interior refresh is going and could give you some ideas.

Yeh already have that one bookmarked and I am thinking something very similar regarding the logos.

I LOVE the original lines and style of that boat. Much better than the lines on the G in my opinion. It's just beautiful. I'd put it back like new.

I have been playing a bit with a Photo editing app (not very well may I state) to try out a few different ideas. I think we have decided that we are going to stay true to the current style with a change to the main colour scheme, going for White, Yellow and Black rather than White, Yellow and Grey and change to more modern logos.

This is my preferred proposal at the moment.

Whereas my wife is currently favouring the logo being placed onto a shield on the drivers and observers seats. My attempt at drawing the shields isn't perfect but it gives an idea at least. I am not completely against the shields just not sure I love them. I would propose to have a double edge yellow stitch on the perimeter of the shield if we were to go that route.

I like the touch of black, very majestic! The alternating piping between black & yellow is a nice touch also.

Ouuuch. That black in Florida's sun results in a quick burn.

Ireland's a bit less hot and sunny.
