    '82 SN 2001 for $300

Found my winter/spring project. What do you guys think, too ambitious? I going to be working on it along side my '87 American Skier which needs similar work however much less extensive. I'm picking it up in a couple weeks but wanted to hear from some other people with restoration experience if this seems worth while. Various pieces of hardware are included but most of it is gone. Thanks.

I assume that trailer is not included.........that's well over $300 by itself.

Looks admire your ambition!! My wife would kill me if I brought something like this home to work on in my spare time (even though I would love to do it!!).

Good luck, and post pics as you progress.

Post some pics of the American Skier, too. I love these older boats!

Looks good to me. My first one was 700.00 and was a 66 with seawater in the Engine and tranny.

2001's kick up a great wake for wakeboarding. I think you have the perfect boat to build the first V-drive 2001.

I agree with jon, it looks to me like the whole stringer bed needs to be replaced and refoamed. When a boat is to this point its not honestly all that bad to work on...........consider it artistic freedom lol. I purchased an old Great White sport fisher, it was a center console and the stringers were for the most part gone. Paid 200 for it and within a year of rebuilding and a few trips out I sold it for 5K. Not a bad turn around for something I enjoy in the spair time.

Looks to me like you are going to have your hands full.

I found this link a while back from some guy who really dug in and did a great job of resorting a worn down boat. Great pics of what it took to replace the stringers in case you are wondering what you are getting yourself into.

I used to have a 1976 myself that I tried to bring back from the dead. I worked on it for 2 years and finally had to throw in the towel and bought my 93 SN. But I loved every minute of working on that boat. All except for putting in the new carpet, that part with the glue and cutting really sucked! Great excuse to go out the garage and get away from life.

I recently brought a 2001 back to life.....honestly you got a great deal, because it saves you the time and effort of gutting the boat yourself. You should be able replace the foam, stringers, and floor without too much expense. The only tricky components to find may be the windsheild and the motor cover. All other seats and the swim platform can be fabricated in your garage with some basic carpentry skills.

Take a minute and check out correctcraftfan.com. EVERYTHING you need to know about rebuilding a CC 2001 is buried in those forums. Just take the time to search for the info your looking for.......I'd be glad to help with any questions or pictures, just send me a PM.

......oh yeah, instead of a PCM 351 you might want to consider slapping a 454 in that baby, that would be sweet!

x2 on the v-drive, that would be insane. i'm not sure if the hull design would allow for it, but if u at this stage, why not try?

windshield shouldn't be a problem. i found out the hard way dealer still carries them

So I just made it down to Burlington, NC in a day with my NSS trailer and I'm ready to pick the hull up in the morning after a quick trailer swap at the marina. Was thinking afterwards I would head up to White Lake and check them out, maybe pick up some new guide rod pads for the trailer too! Does anyone know those guys over there, are they cool? Was thinking I might inquire about some parts but some places just get annoyed when you start asking too many questions so I thought it be best not to irk them.

                            14 hours back up tomorrow...

Yeah, build a V-drive of it. That would be the best DIY project ever on a 2001!
