Carpet Runner / Floor Mat For Ski Nautique

Remember the carpet runners / floor mats that the factory offered for the Ski Nautiques back in the late 90's / early 2000's to protect the carpet?

I have recreated them, and the first prototype will be going into the 2003 Ski Nautique that I just restored. I have been delaying delivery so that I can surprise the buyer with this extra. Hope he likes it!

I have a second one for the 2002 Ski Nautique that I am still working on.

I'll try to get some pictures of it in place this evening, but that might not happen until tomorrow.

We patterned it out with paper, and then with cardboard, ordered the proper carpet to match the factory Nautique carpet, cut the carpet to the pattern, had the proper backing applied (which isn't cheap), had the edges bound, and added the Nautique patch.

If there is a market for these, I would be glad to produce more and sell them. I have already had several people contact me about this.

The boat we actually used for the pattern was my 2002 Ski Nautique Closed Bow.

I have a second one ready to go if you'd like to just buy that one. I'd let it go for $799. That's not much above the cost of materials.

Interesting. Looks like a decent solution to mask worn carpet or protect existing carpet. My buddy with a 206 replaced much of his floor carpet and it was quite the job.

Did you use any snaps? Curious how well it stays down.......

I did not put any snaps in this one. I considered it, but I don't think it'll need it. We'll see I guess!

I'd be interested in something like that for my 2003 SANTE... Is the backing similar to what Nautique used in their boats with the snap in carpets before they went SeaDek? I know they had a tendency to hold moisture and get smelly after some time.
