I have been reading these forums for a few months and appreciate all of insight. A lot of knowledgeable people sharing. It is very helpful for someone new to this. It is definitely much more active then some of the other brands forums.
Our local dealer wants to clear their last 22' in stock. We have looked at a number of brands and seeing discounts from MSRP ranging from 15-24% (Malibu, Centurion, Supra). I gather higher interest rates have reduced demand and dealers are offering more "deals." I am curious if this is really a "deal" being offered? We have a deposit down and are taking out on the water Saturday. It is refundable. We are really happy with the size and we like the look (I understand that is not shared by all). We will drop the platinum protection and the dealer originally told us we would get to $137k versus the $141k shown (which includes the platinum protection). I expect to be at $137k before taxes and registration.
Are there any options missing that anyone feels are big deal? We don't care about a lot of the extras (heated seats, adjustable LED lights, etc.). We have been using my father in laws 50 year boat with nothing extra and have had plenty of fun.
My only big concern is the engine. We will go to Lake Tahoe on occasion (otherwise lower elevation lakes). Generally just putting around and possibly pulling a tube. We wouldn't wakeboard (maybe surf, although unlikely), on Tahoe. If we change the prop, wouldn't that impact performance when we are in lower elevations? It doesn't seem practical if we go back and forth (90% lower elevation and 10% higher elevation lakes). I would welcome input here?
This is our first boat. We hope this will last us for a long time and I am a little concerned we might regret the base engine. Coming from a 20' my wife grew up on and we have used for years, this is a big upgrade in space. We don't want to go up to 23' at this time.
I appreciate any insight offered.
