Red Warning Light - Tow Rope

Today towing the boys, I got the tow rope wrapped around prop and drive shaft. I do not have a V drive. It's direct drive.

I immediately shut boat down, got rope outta prop and shaft. Upon starting back up, warning light came on. Oil pressure is good according to gauge as well as temp. What should I look for? Any help greatly appreciated.

The only thing that causes that is the SLOW system. See below.

Assuming you are not running hot, and you have good oil pressure, one of the two switches below has failed.

You can disconnect each switch in turn to see which one is failing. Once the engine runs normally with one or the other disconnected, just replace the bad switch.

Thank You for the info Nautique Jeff! I read this is for EFI. Do carburated 351's have the SLOW system as well?

Yes, they sure do. They run the exact same system. Any Nautique with a Check Engine light on the dash uses this system.
