    Sn 206 vs. Mc 205

Has anyone skied behind both of these boats? I'm wondering what the slalom difference is ( if any at all) between the two at 34 mph. If anyone has had the pleasure of skiing behind these boats please let me know your thoughts

Had a 206 for 10+ years. It skis very well - just a tick off the SN. We mostly ski and loved it. I have not skied behind a MC 205, so can't give you a comparison, but at 34 I think you would be happy skiing the 206. Ball of Spray may be work, though you will find most there will compare everything to the SN or Prostar.

I owned a 206 and had a friend with a MC 205. 206 all day! Was one of my favorites. Only skied 34 mph 15 off occasionally 22 off. Was amazed at the 206's wake (so was my buddy that had the 205).

I loved our 205, wake had a lip to it though compared to my buddy's 206... for straight skiing 206.. if you wakeboard I preferred the 205

2004 206 with a tower owner. We mostly free ski with a bit of course time every now and then. 15 off at 31 - 32 MPH is most common.

My 206 doesn't ski as quite well as my 97' Ski. 206 wake has a bit of bump the length/speed above vs the 97 Ski. The 97 wake was just butter and hard to beat. Definitely helps to get the 206 lighter...when we're skiing, I'll try to run less than a half tank of gas, pull the rear seat and just have an observer only. My buddy has 206 with no tower and we don't notice the difference. I think starting 2006 model year boats...or maybe the 2007 year...the 206 boat is a few hundred lbs lighter. You can check the stats that are published on this board to see where the change was made. If you were super into a ski wake, I'd look into the lighter boat. 2007's and newer also support the zero off. BTW, I rarely see 2007+ model year 206's for sale. They are out there but appear to be much less common.

No effective wakeboard wake on this boat. Mine has the "trick tank" option which adds 200lbs of water ballast to the stern. Tank helps the wake a bit up to about 18 or 19 mph and then not much after that. I believe there was also an option for a slightly larger trunk tank but I have never seen it in person. If we were serious wakeboarders (we are not..), I'd either replace the trunk tank with a fat sack or run a sack behind the engine box.

What I hear is that the 206 wake gets quite nice at 22 off and shorter at 32 and above. I'll have to live through others on that report....
