When I lived in Michigan I really liked my dock setup. Plenty of room for the boats and jetski’s and easy to setup and take down each season.
We moved to Tennessee almost 2 years ago and with the longer boating season and a lake that doesn’t freeze in the winter, we wanted a setup that we could spend a lot more time on and would hold all of our toys.
I drew up some plans then changed them, then changed them again, and again, and again….finally decided it was time to get started.
I had the pilings put in then the fun began.
I paid a contractor to work with me, I barely saw him after he got my money. Seems his true expertise was making excuses.
Thankfully, a couple of friends in Michigan thought this would be a lot of fun, and they came down a number of times to help out.
It took almost a year to get it done, lots of delays getting material, traveling out of town, waiting for help when something required two people, etc.
Just before we moved we replaced our 2015 SAN 210 with a 2022 GS22. We think our new Nautique looks good in its new home.
Pilings going in
Girders are done, joists going in
Joists are done
Almost ready for the roof
Hired a crew to put up the roof (first crew never showed up, after 3 weeks of waiting, hired a different crew that was awesome! Thank you Caesar)
Lifts installed!!!
Still lots to do on the build but had to put the boats on the lifts. Happy moment!
Closet built, trim, lights, fan, etc. all complete
Overall it was a fun project, I’m glad it’s done….time to get back on the water!
