Motor Burned Up - Replace or Scrap

I have a 2002 Super Air Nautique that I bought used about 2 years ago. The engine burned up due to an oil leak issue. Replacement of the engine, Vdrive and transmission has been estimated at $25k. As you can imagine, much pondering on my side about what to do. I am interested in your opinions about whether or not you would replace (new PCM) or scrap the boat. If I scap the boat, can I get any money out of it and how would I go about finding someone interested in a project like this? Thanks!

I'm seeing crate long blocks and complete assembled engines from $1400 to $6000. There is a little more involved in an engine R&R with marine vs auto, but it's just nuts and bolts, and the right marine cam to put you in the sweet spot for RPM's (ok and electrical/ignition/carb with some parts swapping), but doable on a weekend. Do you have any weekend warrior buddies with wrenching skills that work for beverages? Why does the V-Drive & Trans need replaced? Definitely wouldn't make sense to soak $25k into a boat that's worth maybe $25k even after the replacement.

i wouldn't replace the trans and vdrive. new long block and transfer whatever engine accessories over that you can.
