Would you consider this a good deal

I posted yesterday on the Air 206 I was considering with the 5.0. I have now run across a 216 that is loaded with everything but the PP and heat the 206 had. Both are SE but the 216 has the 5.7 and a much nicer trailer. Tandem with surge brakes and bushing suspension set up. $32K for this 2004 Air 216 and about $29K for the 2003 Air 206. Hours are about the same. I like the rommier boat, but $3K is $3K. Resale would also be a consideration. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Man I never knew there were so many options to consider. Thanks

It just depends on what you want to use the boat for. If you are mainly family boating - go with the 216, but I wouldn't recommend it for serious slalom in the course. Wakeboarding would probably be better with the 216. If I didn't have this crazy desire to beat myself up in the slalom course I'd have a 216 (or even better yet the 211) the 206 can get crowded at times. Both of those sound like pretty good deals. PP is a must have imo. Got any pics of either?

The 206 will also track and handle much better then a 216.
Tandems are so much nicer to tow with and as LT said the PP is a must have.

It depends what you want to do with the boat. The 206 is a better ski boat and the 216 is a better all round boat. I personnally go with the 216 and drop the 1k extra for the PerfectPass. It's indeed a must have.

No pics yet, but the funny thing is the boats are identical in the color scheme. White, black, and blue. Do you guys think this is a great, good, OK deal. I have patience and would like to get the best deal possible. I understand as we move closer to the summer prices tend to edge up. So do I jump on it or do I wait and keep looking? I am not opposed to an older model also, but it seems to me even back to 2000 they still bring around 30K for the air nautiques. Thanks.

Those prices don't sound unreasonable, but they don't sound like sweetheart deals either. The SE will not bring the price even with similar options as the Team editions will. In reality only you can decide if it's a good deal. I'm sure you've done this, but I recommend looking at other places like boattrader.com and at all CC dealers (which you can find on this site) used inventory for comparison. When you've looked at enough of these things you'll have a sense as to what's a deal and what isn't.

Not trying to get in your business, but- for what it's worth - if you're uncomfortable spending that amount of money, I'd wait. - the only thing worse than not having a boat is having the perfect boat you've got to sell because you can't afford it - it is painful....voice of experience.

It sounds like the model is of second importance, so I think the 216 being newer and the better engine would be the best deal. Besides, you could always add the PP and heater late if you felt you really wanted them. I suspect you'd get half of the $3K back on resale.
