Could it possibly have been a python at one time and had a repower done to it. Im sure if someone had a python go bad, they would be shocked to see the replacement cost. I would not be supprised if the repower to a gt40 with a new engine frame would have been less expensive than the python block alone.

Come on rocco, get some pics of how the exhaust is routed inside the stringers!

06210, its possible that this was a former Python boat. However, White Lake said they have converted a few GT40's to either dual exhaust or removed the muffler. They couldnt provide any more useful info on the specifics though.

Lukeduke, thats a pretty cool setup that you have. It doesnt shed much light on how the exhaust would be run on a newer boat though. Yours is the same as all other pre-'90 boats where the exhaust is run outside the main stringers.

Hey Luke~ Thats sick! I have an 88...looks to be the same color and all! Hows the performance difference with the GT-40 compared to the 351? How hard was it to switch?

It isn't all that hard. It is an entirely new drivetrain. The power is incredible, We went for a run with it at the end of breaking it in, and there was almost no need to adjust the throttle, it pretty much held its speed constant.
