    An Optimist

Our lakes are breaking up (about a month earlier than normal), so I went over to the lake nearest our house yesterday to check on progress. There was some open water, but there was still ice on about 3/4 of it. I was a bit surprised to see a lift in the water already with an old Tige sitting on it! I mean, I appreciate the optimism, but I'll wait it out a bit!

Too funny! Best of luck to them We’re still fully iced and snow-covered up here. Got another 16” last weekend.

Ouch, Bob! We're sitting below16" total for the entire winter, which after getting 90" last winter, is extremely odd. It was 74 F here on Sunday! It's been an unprecedented winter in MN.

Dang, Ryan - it seems really early to be that warm! Fingers crossed you'll have some more precipitation on the way. We're doing pretty well so far this season, closing in on 200" of snow. Sledding has been great!

We had guys putting their lifts in last weekend. We're early too but we've also seen cold weather return in April that has pushed this old man's season start back to very late may or early June. As much as I like an early start I'm done with wetsuits and dry suits, happy to dive though.
