Boat recommendations 2013 or 2014 G23 vs 2018 210

We are looking at buying a new boat and could love some input. We live on a smaller lake we have 2 boys who are just starting out wakeboarding, and wife will wake surf. We normally have 6 people or so (mix of adults and kids). I really like the g23s for space however the age of the g23 seems to miss some nice upgrades. They are both priced about the same.

Considering that I have a 2018 210 for sale, I'd lean that way!

Honestly, they are both great boats. Being on a smaller lake, the 210 may be a great choice. It is hard to beat a G23 in any form though.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a few responses yet. What is your go to on the water? We went with the G for 3 reasons, room for the tribe, wakeboarding, and then surfing when you are too worn out to hold on to the rope anymore. By far the best wakeboard ramp out there.
We ski once a year, just to say we remember how, and when we do, it's in a Buddy's boat. If we were still skiing more often than that, I would be in a 210 or the likes all day long. The best of all 3 worlds. IMO

Two VERY different boats. It's impossible to say without more information.

- Which activities will you do with the boat? Skiing? Wakeboarding, Surfing only?

- What's your tow vehicle?

- Where will you store the boat?

- What's your regular "crew" size?

Your first line says you live on a small lake. Could you define small ? 500 or less acres ? The G is a beast. It would definitely be a handlful as a first boat on a small lake.

second. Will you be towing the boat to lake for use , a g needs pretty heavy duty tow rig.

6-8 is the perfect fit for 210. 8-10. Not so much.

So since i see alot of NC people on here we live on mountain island lake for a size reference.

We dont need to tow we will have it in a slip.

Our group is normally 6 to 10 normally 50/50 mix of kids adults. Most of our friends have pontoons so normally take the kids tubing and now that they are older they will start wakeboarding and surfing (especially my kids are going to be mostly wake boarding)

This isnt our first boat we had a mastercraft 205 prostar before but it was older and we wanted more room, and a tower for our sons to start wake boarding.

on the MIL, shhhhh! We live on the lake, it's not "small" compared to some of the midwest lakes, it's about 3500 acres. That said, we have a 230 and it's great, there's a few G23's on the lake as well. Both would be fine for MIL, if you haven't driven a G23, probably best to try one out if possible, it will drive less responsively than your old 205, and around the docks will be quite different. I have a friend with a 210 and if you want to check out my 230 let me know.

3500 acres = small?! That's a pretty decent sized lake here in the upper midwest.

Considering mine is 350 acres I’d say that’s not small by any means. Hahahha. A g23 would be fine out there

Given your requirements, I'd lean towards the 210. The 2018 will have updated electronics and it should do everything you need. 10 people is a lot, even for a G. Might not be a factor if a bunch of them are kids.
