2016/2017 G or brand new Moomba?

I realize there might be some biases here but I’m in the market and wanting insight.

im wanting to spend around 100. Ideally less but 105-110 isn’t out of the question.

what I can find in that range is a 2016 g23 with the h6 or a 2017 g21 with h5. I have a family of 5 we like to go out and relax and do kids stuff but one day a week is the wakeboard crews night. We are intermediate riders with most spins and basic inverts. We don’t surf much.

so I’ve been in love with the G series since they came out but I have never ridden one. Obviously I hear good things and a lot of sentiment is that the g21 is a better wakeboard wake.

the moomba I’m looking at is a 2024 tykon which has a 6.2 400 and is 24’ long. I haven’t rode it yet but will this week. The dealer is local but a good Nautique dealer is an hour away so not a huge deal.

so the question is… 8 year old G or brand new moomba?

I've always liked the Moomba, nice bang for the buck IMO. But then you are comparing a stock Suburban to a Cadillac Escalade. I can grab a '16 Escalade or a new Suburban. Both super nice rigs in their job and function. But at the end of the day, and I didn't rack up too many hours on the Escalade, chances are I will be able to recapture most of my costs when I go to sell it. The new 'Burban, I just lost of bunch of my value when the wheels left the Dealer's lot. But hey, I have a warranty for a few years.
We love our '16 G23, and at the $100k price point (I wish we would of got ours at even close to that) thinking you are not going to loose much of that value down the road at this point.

Don't think that is even a comparison. The G will outperform the Moomba in every category and the fit and finish is best in the industry by far.

Agree with the above comparioson.

We've had our 16' G for 8 years. It's still selling for what we paid. Bought with 30hrs in September 2016 for $107K

The G will hold it's value or close to it for many years to come. Also a very desirable brand/model when it comes to resale. Same cannot be said for the Moomba.
Fit and finish is world's ahead. Better wake/wave. Better looking

Kmayotte On a different note that has nothing to do with your comment, I noticed you are from Winnipesaukee, NH which is where Goodhue Boat Company is located. They just purchased two marinas on my home lake, Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. Just wondering if you know about Goodhue Boat Company and what kind of reputation they have for service to their customers in Winnipesaukee.

I'm familiar with Goodhue Hawkins yes but no personal experience. Generally a reputable name around the lake. A family friend bought a cobalt from them. My inclination is they're a premium dealer with the pricing to go along with it.
