SN 196 & Hydro-Gate

Since it looks like the Hydro-Gate is an option on the 2007 SNs, do you have to purchase this option to have the boat in Slalom mode? Isn't the gate down for slalom mode & up for trick? Or do they put a non-moveable plate in it's place? OuUr dealer was going to order our new boat without this option since we don't care about trick, but now we are having 2nd thoughts.

My thinking when I got my 06 was to have the option just in case I resell later. The boat without the option has a metal plate across the tunnel above the rudder. This creates hook in the hull raising the back of the boat for a smaller wake. If I can get my 2 oilleaks corrected I won't be reselling for a long time.
