    RE: ???

bkh, You are correct. Actuall buyers go to the dealerships but for us dreamers that can not afford a real one the website is a great rescource. I also believe that anything worth doing is worth doing the best possible. I guarantee you that CC spent some major cash on this site. For their money they got design and a certain look. When I would rather have 100s of pictures to be able to see the new features.

      RE: ???

The main thing is that more and more people are researching online right now before purchase. Having an easy to navigate and informative website is very crucial, especially in a competitive niche market such as wake and ski boats. The longer potential buyers spend on the site, the more they will start to develop a relationship with that brand, influencing buying decisions down the road. Personally, I think it's very important.... which is why i'm always amazed to see so many flash sites.... just my 2 cents though.

          RE: ???

          me too.. just try www.nautiques.com

I guess BKH is right in that a website isn't going to make or break a deal. BUT, it could start a new customer-dealership relationship in that a new customer to the industry only has a few things, like brochure and website, to just get started being involved in the industry. If a website is poor, it could dissuade the customer from investigating the product more... so indirectly, I think it does contribute to sales if you look at it this way...

As for the site itself... its alright... something i'd expect four winns to produce though... not CC quality... they still have old pictures on the site, and they cant decide which catagory to put "Nautique Gear" into, so they put it in 2. They're TEAM NAUTIQUE section is VERY comprehensive and informitive...  They're boat builder is just the same as the old one in a new outfit with a few more lines, and they still haven't got the towers right on the 226...

good thing, they brought back the teak platform... overall: definately improvement from last year, but that's not saying much..

          favorite company: CC
          favorite company's website: MC

edit: wow.. didn't realzie how quick a thread this was... sorry if this is now repetative...

I guess we will have to wait for Correct Craft version 2.2 to come out next year for good pictures. They still build the best boats.

              RE: ???

Sorry, i was getting the old site, boy do I feel stupid! I think the new site is much much better. Far and away better... they just need more images. I mean, you know they have photographers that snap tons of pics of each model at photo shoots... put them in a gallery for us all to see!

I keep going back to that forum and find myself laughing where AG4EVER said it best about CC.....

                "They have a marketing department?"

I mean it is a slight improvement but its got a ways to go before I'd call it great!

They need an extended photo gallery showing various 2007's in different colors! By Varius I mean more than 2.

                    Wow you guys are harsh!

Here is something for you to do. Send me a message with any flaws on the site. I don't want to hear "it needs more pictures" or "the flash needs to go away". I want to know about dead links or display issues in various browsers or issues along those lines. These are the types of things I am looking for. I am working with CC to give them a little feedback in that regard.

i agree with most very poor. can you build a 236 i cant get it to build a 236. finally like the looks of a cc and they wont let me build one online and try color combos so i could go order one i like. if they paid someone more than 5bucks to do that site they got screwed and should get their money back. did noone check the site before they put it on the web.

You mean proofread? Like the company that was "paid" to make this, or even Correct Craft, was supposed to do? Sorry to be harsh but it shouldn't be the customers' or fans' job to correct the company's poor webdesign errors...

I did get the old site before deleting cookies, the new site is pretty cool, many imrovements from the previous version. Personally don't understand what all the complaints are about and I would bet over time it will only get better.
SkiNautique, awesome offer on suggestions, I have read so many posts where users complain CC does not listen, perhaps this may change that perception.

I don't believe I've ever met anyone who has bought a competition watersports boat or declined to buy such a boat because of the quality of the manufacturer's website? I also don't believe I know anyone who has ordered a new competition watersports boat over a website. Maybe such people exist, I just don't know them. But I'd think they are few and far between. BKH
you completely overestimate the people that these boats are marketed towards. if it were purely about performance, the boats would be bare in accoutrements, only offered in a white gel coat, and very industrial in nature...just like they used to be when they were marketed as tools for bouy hookers trying to round at 36 off...

i know several people whom are looking for more than a vehicle that will do more than carry them to their next personal best. several of those people have bought the most customizeable boat the could create via the websites available at the time. one particular situation comes to mind: a good friend of mine whom spends @8-10 hrs a week on the water recently started dating a woman whom could afford to buy whatever boat she wanted. they (he) wanted a Malibu VLX. because Malibu's website was not updated for the 2007 model line when they wanted to buy, they bought a 2007 tige that they built off of tige's boat builder. they made their decision to spend over $60k without even stepping into a dealership. yes, they bought the boat without demoing, yes they were more concerned with image than performance, and yes he has been riding for more than 10 years...they were ready to buy when the competition wasnt ready to sell...

the bottom line is, if you give people what they want, you will be successful. while malibu boats have a great wake (for the sake of argument, all boats do), the reason they lead the market in sales has nothing to do with their wake...it all has to do with offering consumers what they want: customize-ability...and when you are paing $50k plus, you better dang well get that.

CC has done the hard part: they have designed great products that perform excellently. the easy part is giving the consumer options and providing them MANY FORUMS in which the consumer can learn about their product, and that includes the internet...
