      Man that's crazy, I don't look at the water much when driving, would have totally run over it.

      The 1987 boat I bought the guy ran over a shallow sand bar. It had a driveline - new shaft and tranny installed. Yeah I'd be cautious on rebuilding, depending on the forces involved, might as well save headache and drop in new.

          Just update. Didn’t need the entire new unit. Damper plates basically disintegrated inside the unit when they pulled it apart. Boat’s up and running. Shifting linkage nice and firm again , but the boat def has a higher pitched whine to it with the replacement . I did new prop shaft seal and new strut bearing while the shaft had to be pulled . So hopefully all good on that side.

            the rope was mostly black with little grey in it. So would’ve been almost impossible to notice.
