Bought the boat in 2014, 10 year anniversay!... done a ton of upgrades and resto items over the years, but now the tower need an overhaul. It keep cracking in certain spots due to the movement of these u-joint feet. My son is starting to compete and we ride with almost 3k of ballast. The tower gets put through its paces, so I need something that will last. I had a plan to get the boat to New Dimensions and completely bummed to learn they closed. I think my options right now are:
1. Get the Aviator Pro, but gawd, that went up in price over the recent years! Does anyone know a dealer that might offer the best price? Or a used one?
2. Find a shop that can overhaul mine. U-Joints need to be eliminated in favor of a solid foot/mount and the split joint needs to be repaired.
So far local shop haven't looked feasible, I may look at designing and CAD'ing the foot mounts I need, then have them CNC'ed. After that it should be a simple weld job. Then off to powdercoat.
On the other hand, the Aviator looks much better and I know would be solid long term. Might add a little value to the boat.
