Boat Tarriffs

With the on again / off again nature of tariffs it will be interesting to see what shakes out. Back in 2018 trade issues caused US made boat prices to jump overnight, causing a disruption in South America demand and a bunch of South America build slots to be cancelled. Nautique reached out to dealers with some last minute specials to keep the factory capacity up. We almost bought one as you could get some good discounting on those boats, and could even choose colors (but had days to do so).

It'll be interesting for sure. Roswell has operations in Canada, and some of our boat parts are made by them there. The towers, I believe, are all made here, but things like the mirrors, racks, and other small parts come from their facilities in Canada.

Somehow I doubt anyone would feel a 25% tariff on misc. items on a $250K - $500K boat if it were being bought in the US. Heck, the discount being offered of list would bury any of that by a large margin at least from a US perspective. The reverse tariffs it targeted at boats going into Canada or Mexico.... that could be different but I didn't see anything aimed at cars/boats but I'm no expert on any of this. Realistically, I don't see any of this coming to anything other a play to get security on the boarder, at least for now and doubt it will go anywhere. At least lets all hope so.
