I was reviewing the 2007 Nautique catalog my dealer sent me, and noticed a strange top view picture of the 216 on page 35. The helm is on the left side and the observer seat is on the right! Do they make boats for Europe with the steering wheel on the opposite side like autos? I don't think you can make a reverse picture of this quality with digital photography. :?:

RE: 2007 Nautique print catalog
No, that picture is just reversed. It wasn't noticed until after the brochure went to the printer, and it was too late for them to fix it.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

RE: 2007 Nautique print catalog
Good question.
I was under the assumption that it was so the throttle could be on the right side since most people are right handers and way back left handers were encouraged to use the right anyway.

Didn't they have a similar problem last year. I don't remember what it was, but it does sound familiar.2016 SAN 210
2006 SANTE sold
2001 SAN - sold

The helm is on the Starboard side because of waterway navigation. Marine navigation is for the most part, the same throughout the world....unlike automotive traffic. The helm is on the right, because you are supposed to stay to your right when navigating waterways. For one, this makes it easier to dock, and you can also keep an eye on the side of the boat when you are navigating locks or bridge canals and you may be close to the sea wall. Yet if you look at some older boats, pre-safety regulation days lol you will see the helm may very well be on the left (port) side.

There are many reasons for filipping a photo. Some times it is for asthetics. A reversed image may flow better with the lines of a publication, or you might need two products "facing each other" and only have a photo of each facing right. You then flip one image and they are in a face off stance.
Mirroring images is done all the time, but it was bone headed to not notice one that would be obvious that it was mirrored.
