That's about what I figured. It seems most of the 196s for sale now are promo boats (stands to reason). I guess they go with composite as it's one less thing to take care of. Or maybe the majority of folks out there are looking for composite. Call me old fashioned, but sure do like the look of teak.

Don't diesels weigh a lot more? Probably a good quality in a wakeboard boat, but not a ski boat.

We talked about this on another forum, I thought the same thing. Someone then pointed out MC had used a VW diesel in Europe. I thought they wanted mine out of the F-250, that would be good for a wakeboard boat.

There are many diesel engines out there. On myth is that to get the same power you must use a V-8 diesel. A good 4 cylinder diesel would give you all the power needed for a 196, and with aluminum heads, I bet it would weigh less than a GM 350. Think about that, a diesel option to lower the weight of the boat. I bet the die hard skiers would pay that premium.

Are you sure YoungLife about the 196 diesel available in Japan?
It's very strange CC doesn't offer the boat in Europe where diesel is cheaper than gas...

              about de MC diesel:
