    Sticker question SANTE 05 ?

    Hi Everybody,

I was wondering if any of you has any great idea's on how to put the accenttape's back on my boat ? My boat has been completely stickered by the previous owner and therefore he ordered it in one color. Since I bought it the original stickers have been placed but not the white stripe like in the attached picture. I dont want to put the entire white line on my boat only the outlines, so 2 thin accenttape's.

But I have no idea on the exact place of this or the width of the line ? Does CC maybe have a kind of template for this ? Has any of you done this before ?
The second picture I 'borrowed' from the forum and the first one is of my boat.

I like the look like this also but just wanna give it a try if I like it better with the stripes.

RE: Sticker question SANTE 05 ?

The White stripe in the second picture is In the gelcoat. and is accented with (probably) white tape. The gelcoat is done in the mold, in fact, on the second boat, it is the very first color that starts the boat. After the boat is made, and tested, one of the very last steps done to it is to put the accent tape on. When the accent tape is put on, it is just done by hand, without templates. You can get a roll of accent tape at your dealer, it comes in a roll of 150 feet, enough for three boats, usually. Clean your boat with rubbing alcohol before putting the tape on.

I know the white part is in the gelcoat. And putting the accent tape on just a long side the white part is maybe not that difficult.

But I have no idea how I should do that with my boat ? As I dont have any guidance from the white gelcoat.

Some time ago I saw a picture of (I believe) 2006 SANTE all black with green accent tape. Not with a solid green stripe, but like I described with 2 accent stripes.
I have been looking for it, but cant find it anymore.

I doubt they make a template. You should be able to take the photo to a shop that does pinstriping. I would think they would be able to handle something like that fairly easily
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

Find someone that has a SAN with the stripe and make a template with wax paper. All you need to do is spray the side of the boat with water, roll out the wax paper down the side, and given that the pinstipe is raised, you should be able to go down it with a crayon or something similar. Cut it out and line it up on your boat and you're ready to go.

The big "N" on the sides of our boat is made entirely of accent tape. Makes it more subtle than an fully colored stripe. I think doing the same approach with white tape would look good on your SAN (using the '02 stripe, not the '00 "N").

I have seen several videos on how they make CC boats. Your dealer probably has several from prior years. That is where I got my information on the steps in the process. One thing I failed to mention, when a boat has more than one color, after the mold is prepped and polished, they mask off the main hull color, and spray the accent colors. The accent gelcoat color sets for a short time, the masking is removed, and the main hull color is sprayed. Fast forward to a completed boat, tested, and ready for decals and striping. The 1/4 inch pinstripe tape is applied by hand, no templates, following approximately the line between the accent color and the main color.
You might be able to get to another boat nearby, and take careful measurements, and use that as a guide. Another option is to use some 1/4 masking tape, and some photos and guess where you want the accent tape. Once you get a good idea of where you want the tape, make small marks on the hull with a dry erase marker, and use them as a guide to place the pinstripe tape. The dry erase marker should just wipe off when you are done.

call a local car dealership and see who their pinstrip guy is---they could do it, it is an art form

anybody who does paint graphics could do it also, those guys are wizards with fine-line!

Yep that is the boat I was talking about, I think that looks very nice.
I already talked to my dealer and they also dont know how to do it, other than by hand and measuring from another boat. I think CC should have done the striping also out of hand than with the black boat? Here the also dont have any guidance to do it by ?

I think that will be my only option to copy measurements from another boat and try to duplicate it.
My boat is still in storage for another 3 months, although I have easy acces to it.
Now to just find another boat to copy measurements from, but that should not be too hard.

Does anybody maybe know an email adress which I could use to ask this question to CC ?

Thanks for all your comments so far.
