After 5 years of wakeboarding behind my I/O, I'm finally going to upgrade. I've been very happy with my 19' Maxum, but now I want much, much more. I've had the chance over the last couple of years to ride behind many different boats, and have come to the conclusion that the Air 210 is the perfect boat for me. Of course, now that I'm looking, I keep seeing these 226's that look pretty sweet. I'm going to test drive anything I buy, but would like to know what I can expect from the 226. I know about the 210's legendary wake, and love it, but how doese the wake on the 226 compare? I know it's subjective, but what would you tell a guy who was sold on the 210 about the 226?

RE: First Time Nautique Buyer
Where are you located? I have a really nice 2003 210 for sale.
The 226 is a great boat. It has pulled the mens wakeboarding event at the Masters in '04 and '05, so it obviously has a killer wake when weighted properly. Starting at about two minutes into this video, there are some great shots of the 226 pulling wakeboarders. This particular 226 was owned by Shaun Murray, and had about 1,000 pounds of lead ballast in addition to the stock tanks.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

RE: First Time Nautique Buyer
Thanks for the info. That's what I've been needing to see. Doesn't look like the wake has as much vert as the 210. Still nice though.
I'll be ready to pull the trigger on the new boat this coming spring. I'm in NorCal, and have looked at your boat. Very nice. I would love something red though.
Any other comments on the 210 vs the 226 would be apprieciated.

RE: First Time Nautique Buyer
There is only one other boat that comes close to a SAN wake. That is the CC 2001.
If you are looking for a SAN wake, the 211, 226, 236, 220, new 210 is not what you are looking for.
But if you are looking fo a little bit more mellow wake that still has some nice pop to it, then they would be a good choice.
