Ordering a 236 Tomorrow!

Jeff, Congratulations on making the big move. I think it's only fitting that our esteamed leader be in the new flagship.

I know you have considered all 7.343 million color combinations but what's your take on having a red top stripe? It's a waste of a stripe but I think it just looks right. Your choice is more in line with your current boat however.

Either way, congrats again.

I spent a few days thinking about the red top stripe, and I do like that option. I chose not to get it for a couple of reasons.

1. On the 236, the docking lights are in the top stripe. The chrome docking light bezels look really good on black. They look good on red too, but the black really sets the chrome off nicely.

2. I didn't want to waste a stripe, so I wanted a different color on the top stripe than the bottom stripe. I really like the way the AIR graphic looks on the red background. It also looks great on black, but I like the way it looks on red better. It just sets the red off so well, especially if there is black on the boat too. See below.

Is the 210 sold yet? Or are you trading it?

Still not sold. It was close last week, but fell through. I won't be trading it in. If anyone reading this is interested in my 2003 210, full details can be found here.

236 Surfing

Nice colour combo Jeff.

Just a question. Have you had a chance to Wakesurf behind a 236 yet. I'm keen to hear from someone who has. I have an 05 210 and as I wakesurf goofy, the 05 RH prop spin suits me. I'm lead to believe the 236 has LH rotation so I'm keen to hear what the Starboard wake is like loaded, especially on a 236. I'm considering options for an upgrade and the LH Rotation issue / wake is something that bugs me.

Note - Centurion are jumping on the wakesurfing bandwagon and I found out over the weekend, when ordering a new boat with them, you can order your drive in what ever configuration you want (LH or RH Spin). "Props" out to them for such thinking I reckon.

Jeff, your attached colors look great. Big fan of the red/black/white. By keeping the same colors everyone will still know that's NautiqueJeff on the lake.

You were considering camo I thought? What made you change your mind?

I love the black look. The darker colors are a little more difficult to take care of, as you said, but who cares...

I have a navy blue hull. The only thing I don't like about it is the rub marks from my trailer. I'm not sure what to do about it. They don't go away no matter how much I wax. I'll really consider that for the color combination when I purchase my next boat. Do you or anyone else have any tips for the rub marks? How to get rid of them or how to prevent them?

Simply put, you cannot avoid them or fix/repair them easily.

You know, people keep talking about rub marks from the trailer, but I haven't noticed any at all on my current 210. I do back my trailer down pretty deep into the water when I load the boat, so maybe that helps some. If they are there, they're hidden by the trailer bunks when the boat is on the trailer, and they're under the water line when the boat is in the water.

Has anyone actually riden behind a 236? I wish we could get some accurate intel on that.
I too have been bantering around the idea of getting one, but I really want to ride behind one before I make the plunge. I know that out in Austin some guys rode behind one, and we have some wake pictures but not a whole lot of info on the wake. I can ride succesfully behind most anything, but still prefer the traditionally steep 210 type wake.

Our local dealer is great, and they are more then will to take me out but it has been and continues to be cold. You just do not want to wait to long to order one becuase you will not get it until June. And I hestiate to order one blindly without riding behind it. I would be coming out of a 210 simply becuase of a growing family and space constraints.

Well, I just found out that my 236 is arriving about three weeks ahead of schedule! It should be here April 13 instead of April 30. Yes, that's Friday the 13th. I guess this whole new boat thing won't cut into my springtime riding as much as I thought.

the 236 in comparison to the old 210

I am starting to get a feeling that the new 236 is in a way like the older 210 as far as seating and such goes. It is a crossover correct? If so does that mean that the wake will be smaller than the old 210 because those pics make that wake look pretty good. Im curious to see what you will think of it Jeff please fill us in when you take it out on the water..
