    Trim Tabs

Do you guys think that trim tabs work all that great? Are they more for surfing or for boarding or both? I was looking into getting some, but figured i would ask first..

I think trim tabs would effect the wake shape alot. I would rather use weight in the boat to trim it. I know that most hunting stores sell 25lb bags of birdshot for around $15.00. I think 6 bags placed strategicly in the boat would do a better job of trimming.

Sand bags work really well, I used to use them - just make sure you wrap them up in a garbage bag and tape them tight (keeps sand from leaking and makes the bags last longer).

Otherwise, you can make dumbells out of PVC pipe filled with concrete and a big ol U bolt set into it to act as the handle - these are extremely easy to move and don't look half bad if you paint them.

Bird shot is lead ... lead doesn't rust. Might be a little more compact than sand bags making them easier to hide.

Welding rods work pretty well, smaller size with lots of weight. Just depends what you package them in, we use PVC or ABS pipe.

so i take it then you guys prefer sand bags, bird shot, pvc filled w/ concrete over trim tabs? or has anyone used trim tabs on a nautique?
