Seems to me like the new 210 is a concept boat that made it to production. It's an abrupt change and a lateral movement. I agree with everything Speck says, but will take it a step farther in that they are also going the wrong way with the look as well. The new tower is strange to me, the graphics were outdated before they even put them on the boat, and every manufacturer will glass you up a colored deck with CC being the exception.

glad to here from you guys. i must add that i still think CC is tops for quality. i think MC is next but their styling is just too over the top for me. their is high quality too, but too much flash over the function, malibu seems to be getting cheaper to me. the thing with the new 210 is that i like some of the interior features, like the flip up observers seat, the snap out carpet, a higher freeboard, and with that freeboard necessitates the stepped transom which is functional if you try it at the boat show. this is not the bash CC thread. the thing that kills me is why they abandoned the old hull. the 210 was in need of a freshening, but to blimp out the 210 hull and start on a totally new platform blows me away. tweak it, add the hydrogate if you want, add one or two inches in beam if you have to, but that is it. the 211 is the family boat, the 210 is the athletes boat.
i think someone from utah who owns an 03 on this site said if they changed the 210 he was going to hug himself for two weeks straight for buying his boat, well i am pretty happy with myself now too.

Ok had a look at the new 210 last week, why has the boat got no cooler? Also didnt like the fact that the belly ballast tank takes up all room in the front locker (like the old 210) this shouldnt happen when to boat is designed form scratch and should be like the 220.

Do like the look and lines of the boat, really like the interior layout too, not to certain on the flipup passenger side seat though id rather stretch out.

Now just to try the wake...

i also agree with speck. Nautique should have kept the "riders boat" . they have a "skiers" boat so why not have both. If i were to buy a crossover boat a would look at another brand.

i check this thread all the time waiting for someone who owns one to chime in and post more pics of the boat and the wake. i know there are a few already, but isn't there people out there who have dropped the money on a new boat and want to show it off? arn't there any in the south who are on the water yet? we just had two days of 50-60 degrees here in niagara and spring is around the corner. i remember when the 220 came out people were dieing for as many pics and info as they could get. why is there not as much interest in the 07 210?

I know there is a couple of 07 210 along with a feast of other nauts on the water this weekend at our local river. My son was on one yesterday with a couple of aussie pros and he said the wake clean and big but not sure on how they have it weighted. Hopefully the boys from Gold Coast Nautiques will be enlighting us with more info and picces next week.

                            Hey Guys,

I am more than happy to give my .02c worth here but just so that there is no confusion here about who I am or where I come from, My name is Steve & I am one of the owners of a Nautique Dealership on the Gold Coast in Australia. We have been representatives for Nautiques for the last 12 months. Prior to starting this business I have owned a total of 4 boats (2 malibu's - response & Sunsetter & 1 Nautique - 05 210) & have been enjoying the sport for the past 6 years (And I am 26 years Old)... This is just so that people don't give me the whole "but you are biased because you are a dealer" routine, although I will probably get it anyway...

We took delivery of Australia's first 2 x 210's a couple of weeks ago. One being Para's & the other allocated to Black Diamond Wakeboarding School (QLD). Having done the pre-delivery's on the boats, it was a good opportunity to get a better look at them & just how well they were constructed. Solid is pretty much the one word that can be used. Everything was very tight & well fitted, but then that can be said about Nautiques in General, so lets move right along...

Having started my Naut life on a 05 210, this new boat had a lot to live up to on the water. I used to really enjoy the vertical pop from the wake & absolute lack of effort required to cut at it. It was what I came to refer to as a lazy man's wake. But its benefit's could not be ignored, factory ballast delivered more than enough wake for most people & the fuel economy was sensational. It wasn't a huge boat for a 21 footer, but there was ample room if you allocated space to certain items properly. Handling was good but not outstanding. But the wake was what the boat was bought for.

The new 210 as a boat, kills the old one in nearly every regard. Space, handling, seating, rough water handling, freeboard... The biggest difference is the wake, which is really going to come down to personal preference.

Now I rode two variants of the wake on the weekend. One was factory ballast & the other was weighted with approx 1200kgs. Factory ballast first - It is not as big or as steep as the previous model, but there is still a mighty kick to it, much more so than the 220. From what I could deduct you would need another150-200kgs in it to bring it up to the previous model's size. As for shape, it is one of the easiest wakes to ride & ride well I have found. There is no last minute buck, it is just one smooth up ramp with the slightest of kicks in it at the end, having said that the transition is still steep.

Loaded - I was dead set blown away. I don't normally ride large wakes at all, let alone ride very well, but I managed to pull one of my better rides from it with a whole lot more intensity & height. It is clean both sides of the wake nearly 100% of the time, with Hydrogate having less effect on the shape, although it does tidy up when the gate is disengaged.

I have attached a pic of one of Australia's up & coming riders who is only 15. He is just over 6 ft tall and is not quite at the bottom of the wake in the pic. We had 4 pros in total have a go at the loaded wake & all were very happy with what they rode. There was HS & TS 9's w2w, B/S 7's w2w & even a few decent 1080 attempts of the doubles

We had over 85 people attend our weekend of riding & partying and there was a mixture of 05/06 210's, 06/07 220's & 07 210's (with a lonesome 07 226 as well) along with a whole heap of other brands as well. Everyone who had a chance to ride in the 210 loved it & we were really happy with the response. This is not to say it will satisfy all previous 210 owners, but I urge you to get past the initial "its not the old boat" barrier & have a go. if you can find one with that little bit of extra weight in it I am sure you will enjoy the ride.

It is definately worth checking out rather than writing it off totally, but then if you don't like it I am sure there will be some tidy late models around to snap up if you absolutley crave the vertness of the old model.

Any other specific questions fire away as we did get to test pretty much every aspect of the boat.

                            Cheers

                            Steve
