I haven't seen the bow buddy system before, it looks like it would do a good job. I actually just emailed the company to see if they could be mounted on my Ryan swing tongue which has a very short tongue. I have these ENKAY units on my truck. They have a good website that shows how they adjust. I know my flaps say Roadwing - I swapped the originals out for these because the previous owner trimmed the originals very short since he had them on a Honda Pilot. I still have the Roadwing frame which mounts on the receiver the same way, it just needs flaps. Both units work very well but are not foolproof. My last boat did get stone chips under the bow but I do live on a dirt road. I think most of them occur when I leave the gravel and get onto pavement and the stones come out of the tire tread as I accelerate.

I found one that like that towtector at my local RV dealer for $91 (beats $299), supposed to be here tomorrow. I will see how it works and post a pic when I get it.
